Course Description

The Microsoft SharePoint I course will teach you how to use SharePoint’s features to create engaging and interactive web portals. Targeted to user’s who are new to the concept of a content management system, students will learn SharePoint via hands-on experience using most of SharePoint’s features and tools.

Topics include:

  • Using Common Lists (Tasks, Announcements, Calendars, Issue Tracking, Gantt charts)
  • Using Libraries (Doucment Library, Picuture Library, Slide Library, Forum Library)
  • Using and List Veiws
  • Tracking Changes (Creating Alerts, Using RSS Feeds, Basic Approval Workflows)
  • Using Interactive Tools (Message Boards, Blogs, Wiki Libraries, Surveys)
  • Integrating Office Tools with SharePoint (Word Blogs, Outlook Offline Folders, Exporting and Importing from Excel, Access Interfaces)
  • Improving Collaboration (Check out, Version History, Content Approval, Publishing)
  • Using SharePoint integrated website (team sites, documents workspaces, meeting workspaces, publishing Sites, record centers)
